The pursuit of Knowledge is its own reward, or so the saying goes. And although this saying might have some immediate motivating value for those engaging in academics, it rarely receives the treatment it deserves.
Clairvoyance is one of those words that, like enlightenment, receives more abuse than proper use. Particularly from hippies, fools, and pseudo-intellectuals. Alone, it comes to no good end, and might be a curse.
A great terror which haunts me is the fear of one day being granted the ability to see clearly, only to discover that I have intentionally blinded myself to avoid the tasks set before me.
