2023年にP.A.WORKSが制作の劇場用アニメ「駒田蒸留所へようこそ」を観ました。富山県に実在するクラフトウイスキー蒸溜所をモデルにして作られたアニメ。ウイスキーの製造が丁寧に作られており、富山県の人、ウイスキー好きにはとても良いアニメだと思います。だけど、呑兵衛の自分には、ちょっとささらなかったので、何かが足りないと思っていました。たまたま、引き続き観たのが「アポカリプスホテル」第５話。こちらもウイスキーを作る話。それを観て、足りない何かって、もしやこれかと思った、という話をしています。
