Admittedly it can be a semantic game, but when it comes to gatekeeping, the conversation within Gun Culture has become almost entirely one-sided. Call someone's behavior out as gatekeeping and the conversation's over. We see this elsewhere in society: losing the argument? Call your opponent a racist. Didn't get the position you wanted? Patriarchy.
In order to maintain integrity, we ought observe the appropriate use of the term Gatekeeping, and be sure we're not tearing down the standards that serve as the foundation of our community.
