三春町出身の鬼生田貞雄さんの小説『離脱』を、伊藤千広さんが発掘して本の形にしたので読みました。鬼生田さん自身のソ連兵に捕まりシベリア抑留する実体験を元に、戦後、北満から日本に戻ろうと足掻いている兵士の物語です。日本に友好的な蒙古の人々や開拓団に助けられる一方、ソ連兵や、日本を排除しようとする暴力組織から逃げる様などが描かれています。こういう小説が埋もれていたんだと驚きました。
