Come and discover the four dimensions of a decluttering journey with your host Valerie Huar. Hi, how are you today? So I'm Valerie, author of Put That Stuff Down, coping with PTSD through a decluttering journey. So I'm here today to talk to you about some MIP. Some people are thinking and they are wrongly thinking that everybody that get a trauma will develop a PTSD. That's not true. It's not every kind of trauma that lead to PTSD. This is just a small proportion of people that will have effect on their mental health during years and years and years after the trauma. So let's go back a bit. So somebody has a traumatic event. It could be a car accident. It could be a bad divorce. It could be the loss of a loved one. It could be

a war situation. And this is normal after the trauma to see the sign again in your mind couple of times. It is okay. The problem is when those things are coming in your mind, those flashbacks we call them and they are coming daily and daily and nightmare and nightmare. And that's continued during over more than six months after the event. That's when your mind has difficulty to cope with the event. So this is the moment you need to be worried and think about going seeing a psychiatric or a doctor or a psychologist to get help to see how can I be better with that dramatic event. But this is not everybody that it will continue that long. Lots of people will have that during couple days, couple weeks and it's slowing down progressively. So it's not everybody that will develop a PTSD. So this is my little capsule for today. I hope you

enjoy and came daily on our YouTube channel and you will see a lot of different subject about PTSD, mindset, mindfulness and lots of self development to help coping with PTSD.
