Before you settle in, just take a moment to acknowledge the static in your head right now. It might be a snippet of a new story. A comment someone made, or a to-do list for tomorrow. We are constantly absorbing information that isn't actually ours to hold. You don't need a special posture or a perfect environment to change this. Right where you are. Let your shoulders drop.

Let your hands be still. Take a slow breath in. And as you exhale, imagine you are just opening a window. You are letting the air move through. For these 10 minutes, we aren't going to try to stop the noise. We are just going to let it pass through us, without getting stuck.

Bring your attention to your breathing. Don't try to force it or count it. Don't feel the physical sensation of the air entering and leaving. Think of your breath as a natural filter. As you breathe in, you are bringing in clarity. As you breathe out, you are letting the clutter of a world sift away.

Begin with your forehead and your eyes. If you are holding on to a thought, see if you can let it go loose. Imagine that your mind is like a fine mesh. The thoughts and the hustle of the world are like dust. They can blow through, but they don't have to settle. You are the mesh, staying steady and clear, while the noise moves on past you.

Notice the difference between the noise out there and the quiet in here. Most of what we worry about throughout the day is just external data. It doesn't actually belong to us. When a worry about work or a digital notification pops into your mind, just label it. It's just noise.

You don't have to process it right now. You don't have to solve it. Just let it move through the filter. Come back to the weight of your feet on the ground. Come back to the cool air at the tip of your nose. You are keeping only what is essential. Your breath, your body and your peace.

For these next few minutes, we will sit together in silence. Enjoy the feeling of a filtered mind. You are present, you are awake, but you are unburdened. If the mind drifts into the static, just gently guide it back to the physical rise and fall of your chest. You are the space, not the noise.

You are the space, not the noise. You are the space, not the noise. As we bring this meditation to a close, take a deep, refreshing breath.

Notice how it feels to have filtered out the static for a few minutes. You don't have to carry the whole world's noise with you as you move into your next task. You can choose what to let in and what to let pass through. We begin to move your body, stretch your arms, wiggle your fingers. When you are ready, open your eyes.

Thank you for practicing with me today. Keep your mind clear.
