About this episode
Today's SWAPA Number is 1,983 that's the number of pilots who have joined Southwest since we signed our contract in 2016. Those pilots weren't here for our last contract negotiations and aren't aware of the four and a half year effort it took, including federal mediation to get a fair contract. For the first time, SWAPA pilots conducted informational picketing over a series of five events culminating in the largest single site pilot picket in industry history. It was a watershed event that we keep at the forefront of our thinking as we gear up for 2020. Today on the show, we're going to talk to Mike Panebianco, SWAPA Vice President who had a front row seat to the whole thing and will give us a look behind the scenes during one of the most turbulent times our union and our company have ever faced.
