高山 樗牛（たかやま ちょぎゅう、 明治4年1月10日（1871年2月28日) – 明治35年(1902年)12月24日）は明治時代の日本の文芸評論家、思想家。東京大学講師。文学博士。明治30年代の言論を先導した。31歳で夭折。
狷介でなかなかの難物だった高山樗牛だが、冒頭の言葉には惹かれる。己の立っている場所しか掘ることはできない。そこを深く、深く掘り進める。地下水に到達すると、その水はあらゆる分野につながっていることを発見する。それがわかるか、わからないかが勝負なのだ。
