0:00Let's go out this weekend. Where to? Well, we first have to scan the Ann Arbor Observer. It has all the events happening around our town. Michael Bright is the assistant calendar editor for the Ann Arbor Observer. Now, and it's 50th year. He's not in his 50th year, but the Ann Arbor Observer is. We're getting there. Welcome back. Good to have you here, Michael. Where are we going this weekend? I think it's for having me, Lucian. We're a little light this weekend with Labor Day here. It's a summer officially winding down, but there's a few events going on nonetheless. Anything goes is a play getting put on by the professional youth theater of Michigan. So this is going on all weekend. It's kids who've been working on this all summer. So it's kind of fun. It's a PG Woodhouse Mad Cat musical comedy set aboard an ocean liner and involving a nightclub singer. A love struck storeway and a zany cast of passengers. So it's got some of the great cold quarter hits. I got a kick out of you. Anything goes a few others as well. And that's out at the Riverside Art Center in

1:07Ipsilani again, all weekend, 7 p.m. shows Thursday through Saturday, 2 p.m. Matt Ney on Saturday and a noon Matt Ney on Sunday. Great music. Yeah, great music. And I think a really well put together show for young actors. Good for kids to get inspired with the theater there. So 20 to 30 dollars for that. Check it out this weekend. All right. So the Annabra comedy showcase has something interesting this weekend. I've never heard of comedy and hip hop being blended together. Yeah, this is an act out of Detroit Tam White, who's a real rising Detroit area stand up comic improv performer and a host of a comedy hip hop show that she has. They're called hip, improv. So she's she's really funny. She shares her thoughts. They're kind of meandering and improvisational, but she goes through marriage or inability to work. Other kind of funny topics as well. She's going on Friday and Saturday this weekend. If the Annabra comedy showcase there on 4th Avenue, 715 Friday and Saturday and then a 945 late show on Saturday night, $20 ticket for that.

2:15What's next? Some outdoor bird related activities and be related activities on Saturday. We have the annual fall migration walk at Hudson Mills Metro Park that's put on by the Washington bird and nature alliance. And one of their club members will lead a hike through Hudson Mills. They're one of the county's top birding hot spots and they'll point out the migratory birds that are starting to make their way south. Binoculars are available so you can come in anytime between 8 and 11. The meat at the Hudson Mills activity center flagpole. There'll be an entrance fee for vehicles, but otherwise that's free. All right, North Territorial in Dexter. I assume, am I right that is this, does this get you in if you've got a part pass already? You do, yes, you'd like to. Yes, if you already have one. All right, sounds good. And then going along with the bird theme, International Vulture Awareness Day is Saturday. Well, no, there's a day I've never celebrated before.

3:16So appropriately, Leslie, Science and Nature Center is doing it afternoon, dedicated to the bald, but beautiful, Vulture. There'll be Vulture themed relay race, Vulture trivia, live turkey vulture that you can meet, I suppose. Well, the Vulture is getting his due. Yes, so 1 to 4 pm there on Saturday, out on Traver Road at the Leslie Science Center. Tickets, I think they're about $8 for that. This next event we talked with the founder of Rumble of the Bumble recently on our show. She is so passionate about what she's doing. And this is a great way to remember how important the bees are in our community. They are, they are. And my mom keeps bees and it's been an issue. A lot of colony collapse is a big issue. Something to keep an eye on out there, but they'll be having a street festival in it's Lanny on Saturday highlighting environmental issues in the plate of pollinators.

4:18There'll be, I don't know if this is appropriate for the event live outdoor wrestling matches. Yes, they've done that in the past. It's so cool. Okay. Puppet parade as well. It's appropriate because there's like a pollinator character wrestler. That's how they do it. Okay, I was kind of confused. There be themed characters. See, I'm glad you you have done this interview so you can fill in your listeners on the details here. But yeah, it does all go together. Two to 10 pm. So all afternoon, evening down at Ypsilani in deep hotel, free. You're welcome to donate to various charities. I think to support the bees as well. Yeah. And people have been really buzzing about this event. Oh, all right. University Michigan football films at the observatory. This sounds perfect for Michigan footballs. Home opener. This is a way to get ready for the opening game this Saturday. From noon to 5 pm up at the Detroit Observatory. They have a big 14 foot video screen. And they'll be

5:23showing highlights from vintage U of M football games. How cool. They'll have some archivists on hand to answer questions about the what's being played. They'll have a pop-up exhibit of some historic U of M football treasures as well. So that's a free thing going on on Saturday before the game kicks off. So I think it's an evening game. Yeah, 7 30.
