He is here currently and I'm Gary McNamara. Good morning. Here we are, made it to a Monday. Yeah, we're done. Hang on here. I'm just lost all my stuff here. My computer just went on the fritz a little bit. Yeah, well, just very briefly, you know, we talked about what Trump can do, you know, what the Republicans can do about affordability. And as we stated, I think that just before the top of the hour, I think that as the weeks go on, you're going to see oil come down because there is no threat of the of the Iranians. And you have unity in the Middle East, like I haven't seen before. Right. If the US says, look, we'll escort every tanker out of there and other friendly, you know, Middle Eastern countries do the exact same thing. Oil is going to come down fast. Right. Yeah, it will come down. Right. You know, what, what they're missing out of Iran is that going to make a huge deal. It may put it up a couple of dollars, but really it was the transportation of oil.
It's the flow of the, yeah, it's the flow of the oil, not the impact of Iran. Right. And that's important to point out because there is a remedy. There's a much bigger remedy. If we were talking about an all out war between all of the major oil producers in that region, then production production itself could come to a halt. The absence of any Iranian production. Well, I mean, you look at the sanctions against Iran to begin with that Biden lifted, but of course we're re implemented as soon as Trump came back. That tells you that's already, so that's already priced in. What really this is about the flow of that oil, the transportation of that, especially Brent crude. And getting light sweet crude into that region. So the straight before moose.
Whatever work around they they find. In order to get open that up and get it going. And the US will be a part of that. I suspect this is not going to take long. I suspect and I don't know how long it's going to take, but I don't think this is going to go on and on and on and on. Because the production is certainly even the Wall Street Journal. I think it's it's they wrote a piece on it. And and you know, it was like, OK, here's the reality of you know what we've always feared really the Middle East and a war in the Middle East. But they also pointed out this is about the the movement of that or the transportation of that that oil. And the fact that the US has the upper hand still that's the good news on the bright side is we have the upper hand we have the upper hand on production. We have the upper hand on controlling the flow in that region.
And we have the cooperation now of other nations that will help to defend that that whatever process is put in place for a long time. And once the oil markets see that see that once that's implemented in that confidence is built in the oil markets. We'll see that we'll see that plunge. And and so that's a that would be a good thing for for the the economy something else that we had talked about before the job numbers came out on Friday. I said, don't be surprised if a Trump Trump drops the section 122 tariffs and even other tariffs. Because well, they're they're going to lose that lawsuit. Yeah, the the Democrat attorney generals. When the when Democrat think I think it was a Wall Street Journal. It's a Democrat state attorney general's quote Milton Friedman if you can believe it. And it's exactly what we thought it was going to be. Yeah, but but the lawsuits exactly what we thought it was going to be.
Right. Is that the the the president says I can put these tariffs on because of because of the balance of payments. And the the trade imbalance is whatever it is 900 billion. And therefore we can do it. Right. As we said from day one, balance of payments is not trade imbalance. No. And that's exactly what the Democrat AGs have said. And they quoted Milton Friedman in it. We're Milton Friedman because remember section 122 tariffs came because of the gold standard. Yeah. It isn't necessary. There isn't because the the you know what. The the surplus the payments deficit meant foreign central banks collected dollars. The surplus of those dollars resulted in the United States having insufficient gold to cover the volume of dollars in worldwide circulation. Right. But you don't need that anymore.
Economies aren't judged by gold. Economies are judged by the goods and services and the economic health. And it's judged of your nation and it's judged in the international currency exchange. As we stated before for people that don't know what balance of payments are. You know when Trump says you've got companies investing billions of dollars in the United States. They do every year. Yep. They have to. They have no other choice because we run a trade deficit. They get our dollar. They need to do something with that dollar. If the dollar just sits there, they lose money every day. Yep. They've got to do something. So what do they do? They invested in the United States. So you get billions upon billions of for all the foreign investment in the United States is partly because the well, the majority of it is. Well, I won't say the majority so much of it is number one, we can make a profit by investing in the United States. Number two, we need to get rid of these dollars.
Yeah. And so we're going to invest in the United States and the other would be for treasury bills. It's a safe place where we can park money and at least most times, well, at least right now, at least we're not getting killed on inflation. Right. And but the balance of payments is easily the dip, I had a discussion with some of my buddies this weekend on it because they were like, well, why can't Trump do it? Because balance of payments is in balance, the trading balance balance of payments is okay. We have a nine hundred billion dollar. Let's say that's what it is. I'm not sure what the figures. I know it's around a trillion, but let's say it's a trillion just for the hypothetical. Right. So you've got the trading balance is a trillion, which means foreign companies have a trillion dollars. What do they do with it? They either have to buy something American or invest it, either in the private sector or in treasury bills.
Right. That's it. Otherwise, they get screwed over. Right. Because you gave them a piece of paper or digital currency and you got a durable, good or service. Right. Every day, excessive delays and denials from big insurance keep patients from accessing the care they need. And when care is urgent, these delays can be disastrous. These practices cost billions in wasteful spending, driving up costs for American families. But while big insurers put up barriers, America's hospitals and health systems are in your corner, navigating endless reviews and appeals to get you the care you need when you need it most. It's time to curb these harmful practices and put the focus back on patients. Brought to you by the Coalition to Strength in America's Health Care. On December 12, Disney Plus invites you to go behind the scenes with Taylor Swift in an exclusive 6th episode of DocuSeries. I wanted to give something to the fans that they didn't expect. The only thing left is to close the book. The end of an era. And don't miss Taylor Swift, the era's tour.
The final show featuring for the first time a torture poet's department. String December 12, only on Disney Plus. And so the balance of payments is the difference between those two. And there's very little difference. I think in 2024, it was 53 billion, which is a rounding error when you look at, you know, so there is no balance in payments, emergency. Right. The president's simply trying to convince the people that balance of payments is the same thing as a trade in balance. Everybody knows it's not true. That may collect 35 billion in the next 150 days. That will be part of the next lawsuit. Right. Yeah. It's that simple. Yeah. So the president should just claim victory. Say we've got all this investment coming in. We can drop the tariffs now because they need, especially with oil going up even if temporarily for a month or two. Yeah. Leading into it, they need to moderate prices and they need to do it now.
Well, if you think about especially right now, because we're talking about we're getting to the edge of driving season. Spring break is going to be happening over the next few weeks. But the real driving season comes at the end of May. And that driving season, if oil prices are still high. Then gas will go up even further based on demand. And that is something again, you don't want to deal with as you're out there campaigning for the midterms. Exactly right. You and I have had this discussion on and off the air about the president. You can still do a victory. Look, look at everything that we got done through chairs. And if we need to, we'll do it again. But we leverage this and we've got investment. We have leverage against China. We, you know, and you you wave your victory flag. At the same time, you move to change that policy.
And you're really not going to get any pushback at all. I mean, there's no measurable pushback on a move like that. And on top of that, you don't get a court defeat handed to you two times in a row on the same issue. Because that's again, politically, doesn't look good. It's, we know where the president stands on, on terrorists. But at some point, you look at what's going on right now. And this is the one Achilles that that he has, which of course affects his entire party. I look without the terrorist situation. I, my confidence in the Republicans, especially House Republicans, isn't, isn't very strong. They've got a lot of work to do in their own districts in their own campaigns. But the president leads the party. He's the leader of the party and has the influence here.
And that would be a massive influential move. And no one is going, there's not going to be any political fallout for Trump on that. And certainly not for the GOP on that. As Milton Friedman said in the 70s, the system of floating exchange rates completely eliminates the balance of payments problem. The price, the price may fluctuate, but there cannot be a deficit or a surplus threatening and exchange crisis. And of quote, which is amazing that the Democrats would ever quote Milton Friedman. Yeah, free market, right. A economist out there. But the two things are what they're saying is it violates the law because the president's only vote not focusing on balance of payments. He's, he's initiated the law based on the trade imbalance. That's not what section 122 is about. Also it requires that terrorists be applied section 122 because that would have been an overall problem. Yeah, during the gold standard, the balance of payments. So what they said was it needs to be consistently applied across the board to every company, totally non-discriminatory treatment.
Yeah. And the president has 80 pages of product exemptions and countries, including Canada, Mexico and El Salvador. You can't do that in section 122. To me, this is much more of a slam dunk, easy slam dunk for the Democrats to win AGs to win on this than was the last victory. Yeah. Right. That's very clear the difference, you know. And I'm talking about the balance of payment versus. And I mean, determining what an emergency is, not the fact that only Congress contacts American companies. Right. And still the, it was amazing to me. I'm still disappointed by people that call themselves conservatives that. Don't care about the separation of powers in that entire issue. That still bothers the daylight. Yeah. Yeah. Because as we said before, there really are such few conservatives left in the country now. Well, you and I started measuring that trying to determine where it's going and over the years. Coming up this summer, 21 years together.
We've seen that. Where it's. I'm at the point now when someone says conservative. I almost want to stop and qualify it and tell me what a conservative is, right. Because you see this. Populism going on right now on the right. And. You really have to spell it out. And some people claim, well, I'm more conservative than you or I. Let's look at ideas. I don't, I don't, I don't need to measure the people. I don't need to get a badge. I don't, we don't need no stinkin badges. I don't need a trophy. I don't need anything. Let's talk about the ideas. About. And the conservative principles don't need a slogan. I don't even need the word conservative. Well, you know, I use conservative enough this. I don't, I want to make sure that. I separate conservative economics versus conservative when it comes to the Constitution.
Yeah, because if you read the Constitution, I mean, Jonathan Turley is a Democrat and considered himself a liberal in many areas. But he does read the Constitution. Right. Yeah. And it's absolutely clear on so many of these things. Yeah. Here, as we have talked about, and that's, you know, as we said before, there are some things about the Constitution, but interpreted that I disagree with. Yeah. Right. But the, the fact is, I don't get to change it on my own. Right. Exactly. Based on my preference of what I, how I want it to be. And neither should Congress. I believe they can change the Constitution alone or any administration believe that they can do it. You've got to go through the constitutional amendment process to do it. Yep. We are right. I radio brought to you by FPPF fuel power max. Most owner operators, least to larger carriers are paid on a per mile basis or a percentage of revenue per load. The per mile basis is most prevalent among larger fleets percentage at smaller pay per mile tends to dominate discussions about pay.
Because it's easier to measure and pay per mile often is wrongly used as the deciding factor in leasing to a carrier. While pay per mile can be a vital factor, it's not a cure for every ill. Nor does it mean a big settlement check is coming in owner operators way. Why? Because pay per mile always must be considered in balance with gross revenue as well as total costs. Gross revenue can include flat mileage pay. The varies by length of haul, percentage revenue pay and more. Most importantly, though, for every revenue dollar generated only part of that dollar is profit. But for every extra dollar of cost saved, the entire dollar contributes to profit. Knowing and understanding your cost to operate is fundamental to understanding the true value of any pay package. Owner Operator Business 101 is provided by Overdrive Partners and Business Program. We'll be right back with more Red Eye Radio with Eric Hurley and Gary McNamara. We are running Red Eye Radio. He's sir Hurley and I'm Gary McNamara. Bill Marr, Better Watch Outer. Democrats aren't going to come in and show anymore if he keeps trying to set them up. Oh, as he did with Adam Schiff. Oh, yeah. The other day here, here it is, all right. All right. Where's my little pointer? There it is. There it is. Here we go. That's from the administration. The president had the constitutional authority to direct the use of military force because he could reasonably determine that such use of force was in the national interest. That's too vague for you. Totally vague. Okay. That's from Obama about Libya. Well, Obama made the argument initially that he could go into Syria with that. Okay. Then he goes to Syria. He completely ignores the argument. Right.
Yeah. Change it all together. It's great. Let's talk about a different war. Now we've said this about Bill Marr before. Understand where Bill Marr used to be. We understand and we're happy that he's moved on some issues. Yeah. But remember where he was. Yeah. He was one of the leaders of promoting identity politics as we've said before. He still has concerns about the radical transgender movement. But he sees things he can't describe that he's in favor of. Yeah. Right. But here he is with Keith Olberman back in 2017. And when John Lewis said he was not a legitimate president, I assume you're on that page. I am on that page because he's not a legitimate president. I would agree with that. But he is the president. I mean, it's one of those you have to keep two thoughts in your head at the same time. I do have a president. We are still Americans. He is the American president. I agree. He didn't get there quite legitimately.
But here's the thing. I think we're underselling how the non-legitimately part of this works. Oh, not me. I may agree. But I spoke to a group of Democrats and liberals last night in Florida. And half of them were like this crowd fired up an understanding. We were invaded. Is when it boils down to just because there was not blood on the street. Right. If the Russians had come in with contacts and put him in, I think we would have had a different kind of reaction to it. That's the reaction we need now. What I saw last night was a lot of people hooting and hollering correctly and getting fired up and going, we're going to resist this in every way possible. And other people going, you really think it's that serious? Yes. I do think it's that serious. Yeah. It's the same thing. It's the point. Well, but it's the point of a war other than to gain territory is to put the guy you want in charge of somebody else's country. Yeah. And we're now only debating at this point after the story in the New York Times. You're like, how much the Russians decided our election? And they didn't at all.
That was a complete hoax created by Democrats in order to set up Trump. Yep. It was created by Hillary Clinton and the DNC. Yeah. It never happened. There was no evidence Bill Maher was going on the false liberal source stories that were out there. Yep. And the stories that the Democrats were linking, leaking, knowing that it was alive. On our website, read our radio show.com, chill info with stations, podcasts and more. Read it. I radio. And he's here probably and I'm Gary McNamara. Welcome and good morning. Download our right eye radio app today and you can listen when and where you choose.
Just before the bottom of the hour, we played the audio. The perspective 2017 where Keith Obermann was on there with Bill Maher. And was talking about how the basically, you know, this is an invasion that, you know, the Russians picked the president. Yeah. And Bill Maher agreed with him. Oh, yeah, he's not legit. He's not well, but he is the president, but yeah, he isn't legit. Uh-huh. And completely false. Completely one, one of the biggest political, uh, hoax in American presidential history. There's nothing that comes close to it. And it was created by the Hillary Clinton campaign, uh, and the DNC. Yep. And they've never been held accountable for it. No, not even in the media asking them questions, right? Tell me one last time anybody in the mainstream media, the biggest political host, uh, watergate is kindergarten compared.
Oh, my gosh, to the, to the Russia hoax, the Russia collusion, uh, hoax because it was set up by the Hillary Clinton campaign. Yep. Everything was completely false. The stories were false. The sources were false. Everything that went on for three years in this country was false. And, and, and a hoax. You know, I mean, uh, Jake Tapper started writing the book the day after the election on, on Biden, right? You know, and where's the book on this? Where's the book on this? By the way, you can't, uh, well, uh, on, on the right. Um, Andrew McCarthy, ball of collusion. But, uh, I've always said there's going to have to do the follow-up. That came out quite some time ago. Where's, where's anyone in, in the left media writing this book? It's in telling that story.
There are some, I don't know how many of the media are, are, are promoting it. But there's some on the left. A number of people that still believe that's what went down. Yeah, I've never seen, yeah, there are. That's true. So I wonder what the poll is now from Democrats on. Yeah, I'd love to see it because it was a complete, complete hoax. And it's set up by the Hillary campaign. Yep. To, uh, number one, defeat Trump. And then delegitimize his election, which is exactly, uh, what the Bill Mar fell for. Yeah. We just bring this up not because we are unhappy with the direction the Bill Mar is going. He did some very good things, uh, on, uh, with, uh, Adam Schiff and Don Lemon. Yeah. That we're on last, uh, last Friday. But understand where he comes from. Understand. We are always suspicious. Understand when he cannot completely reject the insanity of the misogyny and sexism of
the radical transgender movement. Understand that we don't necessarily buy that he has all these beliefs. It's just where the political winds are blowing. Yep. So there's a lot more proof that he has to provide, uh, to us on his opinion over a number of years, but I wanted to play the thing with Olmerman because you saw the latest thing where he, uh, said Lou Holtz, the great college football coach Notre Dame for years. Uh, I called him a scumbag. I saw that right. Yeah. Funny thing is, first, when I heard that, I chuckled, not because we all know it's out of bounds, but I just know that Lou Holtz would probably chuckle himself. I figured it's a clap it off. Yeah. It's just laugh it off. It's just like, oh, I'm dead. And now you're coming after me. Exactly. You didn't come after me when I was alive. Right. Now that I'm dead. But you know, the one thing about Lou Holtz and completely outside of football.
And I saw my Greenberg on ESPN. It went viral over the weekend where he, uh, greenie as they call him, uh, said that he was, uh, in the hallway. And this is going back years ago. And Lou Holtz was with him. And he was telling Lou Holtz he was going to become a father in the host. Lou Holtz stopped right there. And he said, the best thing you can ever do for your kids. He showed them how much you love their mother. Yeah. Yeah. Show them how much you love their mother. Yeah. And then turn around and we kept walking. He goes, that's has stayed with him his entire life. I like my Greenberg. Uh, he's one of the few guys I could actually watch on ESPN. But you know why I really like him was because of an encounter I had. I make a back to like 2002. I don't even know why I was at. It was one of the luxury sweets opening day of the Texas Rangers baseball. Okay. And I think it was because that's when ESPN radio was coming to Dallas and they were a part of our.
It was a group of radio stations. Right. I think that's what it was. And I don't even remember how I started talking to him. I can't. I don't remember. All I remember is. All he wanted to do. He asked me, he said, you do talk radio and I said, yeah, I've been in it. I locally, I've been here for a couple of years. I said, but I had like 15 years at that time. I said, you know, 15 years experience. He goes, let me pick your brain. He wanted to know everything. And I, I, from what I remember what I kept telling him is. Just be you. Yeah. Because there's no real other advice you can get. Right. I've always been asked people come up to me, young people. You know, you know, what would you suggest if I want to do it in a podcast or whatever now these days? I go, be yourself. I don't know what else to say. I, that's, that's what the business is. The business is supposed to be. Yeah. So you promoting the things that you believe. So don't be fake.
Right. You'll be who you are. Right. And I think probably some formatic things came up, but he was just so excited to pick my brain. That I thought that was the coolest thing. And I've always admired him for that. Because he said, I remember asking him. I said, you want to be prepared. He goes, yeah, I want to be prepared. Yeah. And I just thought that was the great, I thought it was the greatest thing because you could tell. The whole thing was, this is new to me. I need to learn anything you can do to help me. So, wow. I always stuck in my brain from him. Yeah. You know, so, uh, but yeah, I thought that was a, uh, a great thing. Other news here, Valerie Jarrett reveals that President Trump is not invited to the Obama presidential center opening ceremony. I'm looking at the building right now. And if you are familiar with the first, uh, not, not the woopy Goldberg one, uh, a wrinkle in time, but the original Disney one.
Or if you read the book or wrinkle in time and you imagined camasatz. Yeah. That's what the building looks like. It looks like it's the center, the central government building in camasatz, which was the building of evil across the universe. But it is, is that not the worst architecture? This is like, if, you know, George Costanza, who wanted to pretend all the time that he was an architect, actually somebody put him to work. And he had a fake that he was an architect. Yeah. That's what this building looks like. It is the worst looking building I may have ever seen. Seriously. I, when I first, when they first said, here is the Obama presidential library.
Yeah. I was looking for Babylon B. I went, no, no building. Nobody would purposely make a building that looks this bad. You know, the, the person in a, in a free society. You know, you know, the person that this is what it reminded me of. You ever seen that upside down house? An engineer built this upside down house. You know, it is built as a novelty, almost like a piece of art, really kind of thing. It was like, you should go with that. Yeah. I don't know. Look, we do know the Trump presidential library is going to be pretty much Mar-a-Laga. It's going to be that big and that luxurious. But yeah, that was it.
I'd love to talk to the architects on that. Maybe Michelle was the architect on that. I don't, I don't experience whatsoever. My favorite though. Over the weekend. It was Katie Kirk interviewing Gavin Newsom. With, with any reporter ever. Ask this, make this statement, which was in a question form. Are you just ridiculously good looking? That's so embarrassing. I know. That is so embarrassing. Then Jim Garrett, he wrote about it in early February in Vogue. May a singer wrote a profile of Governor Gavin Newsom describing him as embarrassingly handsome.
His hair seasoned with silver at ease with his own eminence as he delivers his final state of the union address. And with silver. Embarrassingly. In mid February, the New Yorker's Nathan Heller wrote a long profile of Newsom with observations like this. For Newsom, a middle-aged man with a large young family, a glow of professional attainment. Okay. And just, you know, talked about his good looks in his hair and his dress. The challenge has been for him to look both humble and concerned because he's so damn good looking. He slumped his shoulders as he listened as if to shrink his frame. When he nodded, he bent from the waist, not just a green, but offering small, grateful bows. Okay.
He was dressed in a white shirt, dusky blue suit trousers and a blue tie knotted with two crisp dimples. Oh my gosh. The social media menswear guru Derek Guy in a post on Newsom in Nectais pronounced him one of the few politicians who knows how to wear one. All right. Okay. Katie Curry, do you have a Zoolander problem? No, I, geez. Yes. Zoolander, are you just so incredibly good looking as Vogue said? No, seriously, what do you do about that? Well, the reason why I brought it up is because, uh, because you talk about being authentic. And I think it sometimes works against you.
It's Katie Curry saying that. His, his look, his incredible good looks because he's trying to be authentic. He's the biggest B.S.er. Wait a minute. He's one of the biggest B.S.ers in the Democratic Party. Oh, no, that's it. The fact that he can't come off as authentic is because he's not authentic. It's like, you know, because the follow up from a Katie Curry there should have been, because you know, only ugly people are authentic. No, no, Andrew Cuomo isn't.
That's true. I win. I guess we have to rephrase it. All of the authentic people are ugly, not all ugly people are authentic. But if you're too good looking, you can't be authentic. It's. That's. I can't wait for 2028. That's a PhD statement piloted higher and deeper. Oh, my gosh. Wow. And they're not embarrassed. This is what we told you. No, any, any person who's really a journalist would be embarrassed. Yeah. She's not because she's no, she's not a journalist. She's a political activist. Yes. We are Rudi Radio. Coming up more with Gary McNamara and Eric Harley. It's Rudi Radio.
We are Rudi Radio. He's certainly not Gary McNamara. You think inflation has been bad here in the United States? Hmm. The last five years in Venezuela, inflation soared to 475% in 2025, the highest in the world. Wow. Now the full year inflation actually exceeded the International Monetary Funds forecast of 270%. Wow. Wow. Wow. The, uh, that was, uh, the International Monetary Funds, uh, had the figures on Friday. Hmm. Accumulated inflation for the first two months of 2026 stood at 52%. Wow. On top of everything else. Wow. The International Monetary Fund did not release a forecast for the remainder of 2026.
This is Rudi Radio on Westwood One. Today, excessive delays and denials from big insurers keep patients from accessing the care they need. And when care is urgent, these delays can be disastrous.
