お盆は仏教の行事ですが、昔は神社でもお葬式を行っていました。
自然を崇拝する神道とお盆の行事には共通点があります。
私たちは自然の中で生かされ、最終的に自然に帰るという考え方から、神道と仏教は深く繋がっています。
神社では特別なお盆の祭りは行いませんが、地域によっては、8月16日に夏祭りが行われます。
花火大会は元々地域の人々の思いが込められた行事です。震災やコロナ禍の時にも、医療従事者への感謝や地域の結束を表すために花火を上げました。先祖の思いを未来へつなげることが大切です。
