Al Bayan Radio presents the following program presented by Sheikh Taha Zainab. Sheikh Taha Zainab.
The one who gave us the command of Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, as Allah stated in his book, we commanded those before you and you to fear Allah, fear Allah not only in your prayer, not only in fasting but in how you treat your parents, your siblings and your relatives. Allah commands the believers wa atasim wa bi-habli l-lahi jami'a wa la tafarrakuh, hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. So Islam is not a religion of broken hearts and silent grudges, it is a religion of connection, forgiveness and mercy. Salat al-Rahim means to be kind and show kindness to your relatives. It means checking up on them, visiting them, helping them, speaking gently to them and making the hat for them, even when they are rude to you, when they ignore you, hurt you or disappoint you.
Because Salat al-Rahim is not about them, it is about Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, and his commands that he gave you to honor these ties. The Hadith of the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wa sallam, though mentioned earlier, whoever believes in Allah in the last day should maintain family ties. This Hadith means if somebody claims faith but cuts off their family then something is wrong with that faith. Faith is not only in the masjid, it is in a phone call that you make. Faith is in a visit, you force yourself to do. Faith is in the anger you swallow. The Prophet, salallahu alayhi wa sallam, gave glad tidings for those who uphold and honor their family ties. And he stated that they would be a cause of rizq and a long life. Whoever wants his provision expanded and his life extended, let him maintain family ties. How many people ask Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, for more money, for more time and more baraka, and yet they cut the very door that Allah placed for these blessings, family ties.
Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, decreed your rizq and decreed your life spam. Now, the scholars said what the Hadith entails is that Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, decreed for you to live a certain life spam, which is like 60 years of age. But if you are beautiful to your parents, if you honor the thousands of kitchen, 40 extra years, for example, be add 20 years, 100 years. So the command is given to the angels to take your life at 60 unless you're beautiful to your parents and you're honor the kinds of kinship, then your life will be prolonged. I was calling it said the life spam is set, but what difference does it make to honor the types of kinship is what you can achieve within your life spam. So within a few short years, you would achieve what others could not achieve in tens of years. That is the blessing in addition to the increment in rizq and the provision of Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, and the baraka in your life.
Now, and the baraka in your life. So, obeying Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, and worshipping him is a command and part of that command is to honor the ties of kinship. Now, Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, connected himself to the one who connects family ties. Well, Allah created the womb and the kinship held onto the throne of Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, and it sought refuge and protection from being severed because people will sever the tazaf kinship, people will cut off these ties. So, Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, said to the kinship or the womb Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, and asillaman wa salak wa akhta'a, man katahak. Would you not be pleased that I maintain those who maintain you and cut off those who cut you off? Imagine, Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, himself saying, I will be with you because you kept your family ties.
And Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, wants in the Qur'an those who sever the tazaf kinship severely Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, he says, those are the ones who Allah has cursed. Why? Because they sever the tazaf kinship. And Allah spoke about them who spread corruption in the land and he described cutting off tazaf kinship as spreading corruption in the land. Because corruption on earth and cut, family ties, those are the ones who Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, has cursed as Allah mentioned in the Qur'an. The punishment for cutting and severing the tazaf kinship is in this dunya before the day of judgement. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, There is no sin that is more deserving of Allah's punishment to be hasty in this dunya with or in addition to the punishment that Allah has for him on the day of judgement and oppression and severing the tazaf kinship.
So, the brothers and sisters in Islam be very wary and very careful. As Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, does not accept the actions and the good deeds of those who sever the tazaf kinship. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, The actions are presented to Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala. The actions of all the humans of humanity are presented to Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, and the actions of those who sever the tazaf kinship are rejected and accepted. A person who sever the tazaf kinship does not accept Allah's punishment. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, There are three categories of people who do not accept Allah's punishment. A person who is addicted to Allah's punishment is a person who sever the tazaf kinship. The second category is a person who is addicted to Allah's punishment is the person who sever the tazaf kinship.
What are these categories? The third category is a person who is addicted to Allah's punishment. He shouldn't accept Allah's punishment. The third category is a person who sever the tazaf kinship. on even the ties of kinship is done by giving wealth, by help, by stopping harm, by smiling in their faces, by making the art for them to be kind to them and for you to show as many acts of goodness towards them as you can. The scholars said that people in relation to kinship are of three categories, a person who honors the ties of kinship and a person who does stif attack. When somebody good for him, he's good with them and vice versa, and a person who cuts off the ties of kinship. A man came to the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam and said, O Prophet of Allah, I have relatives that are really bad and mean to me. I honor the ties of kinship with them and they are bad towards me.
I'm patient with them and they are rude, disrespectful, i.e you name it with me. The Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam said to him, teaching him that he should keep up the good work and not be affected by their rudeness. He said it is as if you are feeding them ashes and Allah will support you as long as you remain patient, so be patient. They are getting a very bad sin for treating you in such a manner where you continue being kind and respectful towards them and you seek the reward of Allah and Allah will help you against them. Yani SubhanAllah, by doing so, you're not weak, you're not losing, you are supported by Allah and your reward is rising with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. In conclusion, the brothers' family ties are not easy, they come with pain, history and wounds but they lead to jannah, they bring Allah's mercy, they increase the zuck, they heal hearts, they protect from punishment and cutting them off
brings curses from Allah, brings loneliness, brings a grit and health fire. We ask Allah subhanahu ta'ala to soften our hearts towards families, towards our families, we ask Allah to heal our broken ties between us, we ask Allah to forgive us for every mistake towards our relatives, we ask Allah subhanahu ta'ala to bless our hearts and give us the highest levels of jannah. As-salamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
