Every day, excessive delays and denials from big insurers keep patients from accessing
the care they need.
And when care is urgent, these delays can be disastrous.
These practices cost billions in wasteful spending, driving up costs for American families.
But while big insurers put up barriers, America's hospitals and health systems are in your corner,
navigating endless reviews and appeals to get you the care you need when you need it
most.
It's time to curb these harmful practices and put the focus back on patients.
Brought to you by the Coalition to Strength in America's Healthcare.
Welcome back inside the universe studios of the big 1050 WTKA online at the big 1050.com.
So we'll get back to Michigan specific shortly.
We got recruiting news that we'll get to in the recruiting roundup.
Michigan picked up a football commitment yesterday.
So we'll get to that.
Of course, a lot of basketball to get ready for this weekend on the men's and women's
side for Michigan hockey to get ready for the M go blog round table coming up in the
nine o'clock hour.
But we've been discussing this the last couple of days and it's just going to be very
relevant as we watch around the world of college basketball and see this coaching carousel
that is starting to pick up a little bit of steam.
First of all, the biggest job that's out there is North Carolina, the next biggest
job that or the next equally biggest job that could be out there is Kansas bill self
immediately yesterday tried to squash that apparently people started putting out rumors
that he had made a decision.
We just know he's thinking about it and I think once you get this deep thinking about
it, he's going to end up either he's going to retire in the near future or he's going
to come back for next season and the retirement is a lot closer than, uh, then maybe it's
not imminent, but it's pretty close.
So there's that part of it.
And so the Carolina job, uh, people are starting to ask about if all these media availability
is around the country for the sweet 16 Tommy Lloyd sounded like a guy who is not this
easily dismissing he, he give a non answer answer about focusing on the immediate now
TJ at Iowa state said that he's staying the same.
But honestly, yesterday's news in the college coaching carousel from about North Carolina
is not what was most interesting.
What was most interesting yesterday in the world of college athletics and leadership is
that LSU is in the process of it sounds like is hiring a new athletic director.
And the new AD at LSU is going to be coming from McNeese state, McNeese state recently
won on not this year, which they did go to the torn, but last year, they wanted to run
in the NCAA tournament with a very specific head coach that went on as a first year head
coach now at NC state.
That coach at LSU that at being the state, of course, Sam is he three is will wait.
I mean, well, right.
We'll wait.
We'll wait.
We'll wait.
So you have freeze on a football side.
Yeah.
So you now have will wait, who is at NC state after one year, his former AD at McNeese
is going to be the new AD at LSU will wait going back to LSU.
Yeah, impossible.
He's going back to LSU.
It's going to happen probably today, impossible.
It's going to happen.
Impossible.
My guess is it happens today.
Basin, everything I was reading yesterday is going to make a push to try to keep him.
LSU has.
So of course, he was beloved at LSU.
His strong ass offer and all that.
They don't care.
All right.
I think they go now.
Exactly.
So LSU has the AD that resurrected his coaching career.
And he was at McNeese and we're confident that they hired that they're or they're going
to.
It sounds like higher that guy.
And I'm pretty sure that they're hiring a part of it so they can bring you away back.
Have we ever seen a coach, you know, coaches have left and come back, but get fired and
brought back on a show cause.
I mean, the show cause has expired, but he was fired with a show cause.
It's he will be making his triumphant return to.
My guess is it happens today, this is the craziest thing, but it's LSU through it's not
that crazy.
Right.
They bet.
You know, I was about to say, you know, if Basin was really, but they've had some, you know,
they do have a history.
I mean, you got Shaquille O'Neill and Stanley Robertson.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like I get it.
Like they've had some history, but they're not.
They they're really one.
A lot of significance, but yeah, it's like, you know, how much does it really matter
in a grand scheme and things that I feel like this is unprecedented.
A guy gets fired and you're going to, he's going to be able to come back.
That just that that's a new, that's new territory.
I mean, there probably is a lot to what you kind of said, which is what he got fired for.
I mean, as much as he's going out, he like, he could make a strong ass offer now.
So like, it's, it's cool.
Yeah.
I get it.
And so all of a sudden, Sam, you could have within a few day period of time, North Carolina
and NC State jobs, both opening up.
And this will be a case study in the difference between the big brother and the little brother.
Like what you're coaching candidates, what kind of guys you can get who may be interested
in your job?
You know, I know of Carolina.
I mean, who they want to be candidates.
Well, Tommy Lloyd did not, his answer yesterday was not a, I'm, TJ's like, I'm here.
Right?
He's like, he's here.
Like that.
TJ's out.
Like you get that from his, his media, but all the sweet 16 coaches that are, they pretty
much have almost all of them on their list or at least on the media lists.
They're all going to get asked his question.
I'm sure Dusty will get asked his question today.
Absolutely.
100%.
And so Tommy Lloyd, I wish I had the actual, well, hold on, see if I can find it.
I think I saved it so that I could, it was a very, I'm in the here now kind of thing.
I'm not, I, here we go.
I just need my reading glasses so I can read it.
I already have one of the best jobs in the country.
And I think our team's been crushing this year is just the ability to full, have full
focus and be present in the moment.
And so I think we have a great team.
I think we have a great chance to advance in this tournament game by game, but I'm not
delusional.
I know we could lose tomorrow, but this team deserves my full focus.
So there's not one thing that is going to knock me off my path.
I'm 100% focused on Arizona basketball in this program.
And I can't wait till the ball gets thrown up tomorrow and then can't wait to try to figure
out a way to come out on top.
That is not him saying about no T.J.'s ukulele, he's out, right?
No, that's a, that's a, hey, Carolina, I'm going to try to win this whole darn thing,
but don't hire anybody until after I'm killed.
And I don't have any, because there are times where coaches say things even in fact, like
for instance, I know we've had coaches say I'm staying and then a week later, they're
leaving.
Yeah.
And what's the name of still talking to Michigan?
I can't, I can't remember to Alabama football coach's name.
Oh, Kayla.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He was still engaged.
I mean, we said Bobby Kremons was a Georgia tech left for South Carolina for an hour
and went back to Georgia tech, but Billy Donovan, like left and came, like it happened.
All these things.
We've seen all kinds of scenarios, but T.J.
T.J.
T.J. is pretty emphatic.
And he's an Iowa state guy and they're eight.
From Tommy Lloyd is a, um, yeah, don't make any decisions until you talk to me, but don't
talk to me until my season.
And you got, you have the AD sort of coming back behind T.J. kind of making it clear.
Look, we're going to do whatever we got to do.
Yeah.
That's right.
Right.
So there is that piece of it could, is this posturing my Tommy Lloyd, I don't, I think
there could be a little passion to get a contract to obviously get some sort of an extension
and get a raise.
It's definitely possible.
Uh, I think that there are other ways to do it.
There are and not say that there are.
He sounded very, hey, Carolina, keep your eyes on me.
Yeah.
Um, he's had a story program though.
You know, you would think.
Yeah, but the AC's, I don't know, I mean, the, every day excessive delays and denials
from big insurance, keep patients from accessing the care they need.
And when care is urgent, these delays can be disastrous.
These practices cost billions in wasteful spending, driving up costs for American families.
But while big and sure is put up barriers, America's hospitals and health systems are
in your corner, navigating endless reviews and appeals to get you the care you need when
you need it most.
It's time to curb these harmful practices and put the focus back on patients, brought
to you by the coalition to strengthen America's health care.

Carolina.
Arizona.
Arizona.
So the Arizona is a quality is a good program.
Arizona was loot also like Arizona is a good program.
Absolutely.
Carolina is not Arizona is not Carolina like it's not, they're not even in the, it's not
even close.
Now, and I don't think that they necessarily, I don't know how they're in the grand scheme
of the big picture of full support financial, I'm sure they have a lot of support, a lot
of people supporting them.
Well, people would say.
Carolina is not Carolina.
Right.
I get that.
I don't know, I guess, but does he's answered it differently?
Like that's kind of my point.
He said, Hey, I was focused on this right now.
He did say I have a great job, but they're, I don't know, it's just out of different.
It sounded like, Hey, look at me and just don't make any decisions.
Yeah, I don't, I don't disagree.
And by the way, Sam, I know Arizona might, well, they have, I don't know, I just, Arizona
is Arizona because of Ludo Olsen, right?
Like Penn State is Penn State because of Joe Patrano, not every program then rebuilds and
gets back to what they were Michigan basketball, like just for your, to your point, Michigan
basketball had coach of the 60s, had a coach of the 70s, 80s, 90s, 90s, 90s, had John
B.
Now, does he may, it's not one guy like Michigan basketball has endured.
Now, there is only one big banner, but Michigan basketball has endured over many different
coaches.
I don't think Arizona basketball was anything before Ludo Olsen.
Yeah.
And all that time Michigan, in all those decades Michigan only missed the final four and
one.
And they're trying to get back to what Ludo Olsen built, it's kind of like Penn State
is trying to get back to what Joe Patrano built.
Those programs weren't necessarily story programs until that's, that's why the throw it,
like blue blood versus not, and I know it doesn't actually matter.
But he did, he, to my point, he sounded like a guy that's like, I'll go to Carolina.
TJ sounded like a guy that's saying, I'm not leaving.
I'm still stuck on real weight going back to, going back to get you, I was, I'm watching
all this.
I'm like, the McNeese AD is going to become the new AD at LSU.
I mean, I guess things can change in 12 hours.
And I, but I looked again this morning and it sounds like NCC is going to push and try
to keep them, nothing short of amazing, you could come full circle, but it is a legit
thing to say, what did he get fire for?
He got fired.
Nope.
It was scandals then.
It was again.
So he deserves a fire.
But yeah, like that skill now is a positive.
The ability to make a strong ass offer is a positive now.
It's entertaining to say to lease.
So the, you know, I look around, I know we got to get to a break, but it's, you know,
it was a topic of what, you know, Dusty's number three on Carolina's list.
Yeah.
On their list, it has not, it's, it's different saying who I want versus who is actually
a candidate.
Now, I'll get back to what I, what I've been saying for weeks before the Carolina
job even came open.
Like you have got to be proactive in making sure that this isn't even a thing as, as if
it's not a question now, but make sure.
Make sure it should be one of the top.
It only coaches that should make more right now are coaches who have some hardware.
And you are far behind them, them.
If you're, if you're Michigan and Dusty, man, and there may be hardware, you, you sign
that extension, you might have some hardware.
So, yeah.
Yeah.
So, but it should be clear that another extension coming, and you put, and you put, and
you put escalators in there with, you win this, you get this, right?
Not, not a bonus as in it kicks in a new contract.
You win a national title, your, your salary goes from X to Y.
You win two national, you know, if you don't really negotiate, you win, you win two national
titles, your contract goes from Y to Z.
You can build that in there.
Yes, you can.
Yes, you should.
Strong ass off.
Make it happen.
Because then in this sport right now, they're, they're a handful of coaches who have a
comment for the yesterday, basically saying that he's working on it.
As much as what we're saying.
Yeah.
And he's working on it.
Check out.
What have we been saying?
What have we been saying?
Anyway, we got to get to a break, be back on the other side, got the recruiting round
