William Blatty

William Peter Blatty was an American author, screenwriter, and lawyer. He is best known for writing the novel 'The Exorcist' (1971), which was adapted into a film directed by William Friedkin in 1973. A graduate of Georgetown University, Blatty began his career as a journalist before turning to fiction. His work often explored themes of faith, morality, and the supernatural. In addition to The Exorcist, Blatty wrote several other novels and screenplays before his passing in 2017. He is remembered for his contributions to American literature and cinema.
