Verne Harris

Verne Harris is a South African archivist and historian who served as the State Archivist of South Africa from 1995 to 2011. He is best known for his work on the Nelson Mandela Archives Project. Harris has written extensively on the history of South Africa and the role of archives in preserving the country's past. He has also been involved in various initiatives to promote the use of archives in education and research. Harris has received several awards for his work, including the Order of the Golden Ark. He is currently a professor at the University of Pretoria.
