U Thant was a Burmese politician and diplomat who served as the Secretary General of the United Nations from 1961 to 1971. He played a key role in promoting international cooperation and resolving conflicts. U Thant was a Nobel Peace Prize laureate and is widely regarded as one of the most influential diplomats of the 20th century. He passed away in 1974.
