Founder of the Gelugpa school of Tibetan Buddhism
Tsong Khapa was a 14th-century Tibetan Buddhist master who founded the Gelugpa school of Tibetan Buddhism. He is considered one of the most important figures in Tibetan Buddhist history and is revered as a great teacher and scholar. Tsong Khapa was born in 1357 in the town of Shigatse, Tibet, and studied Buddhist philosophy and literature from a young age. He went on to become a renowned scholar and teacher, and his teachings had a profound impact on Tibetan Buddhism. Tsong Khapa is also known for his role in establishing the Ganden Monastery, which became a major center of learning and spiritual practice in Tibet.
