Sydney Brenner is a South African-born British biologist and Nobel laureate. She is best known for her work on the development of the nematode worm Caenorhabditis elegans and her discovery of the gene that controls the development of the worm's nervous system. Brenner has also made significant contributions to the field of molecular biology and has been recognized for her work with numerous awards and honors. She is based in Cambridge, England.
