Steven Wise

Steven Wise is an American attorney and founder of the Nonhuman Rights Project. He has dedicated his career to advocating for the rights of animals, particularly great apes and elephants. Wise has written extensively on the topic of animal rights and has been a vocal critic of the treatment of animals in captivity. He has worked with several high-profile cases, including the case of Happy the Elephant. Wise is a professor at the New York Law School and has taught courses on animal law and human-animal relationships. He is based in New York City.
