St. Nicholas

St. Nicholas was a 4th-century bishop of Myra, a city in modern-day Turkey. He is known for his generosity and kindness, especially towards children. According to legend, St. Nicholas saved three sisters from being sold into slavery by providing them with dowries. He is also famous for his habit of leaving gifts for children on December 6th, which later became known as St. Nicholas Day. St. Nicholas is the patron saint of many countries, including Russia, Greece, and the Netherlands.
