Sir Frank Watson Dyson was a British astronomer and timekeeper who made significant contributions to the field of astronomy. He was born in 1868 near Ashby de la Zouche in Leicestershire and moved to Yorkshire at a young age. Dyson is best known for introducing the time signals, or 'pips', from Greenwich.
