Sholom Schwarzbard

Sholom Schwarzbard was a Jewish Ukrainian anarchist who assassinated Symon Petlioura in Paris in 1926. Claiming to seek vengeance for the pogroms committed under Petlioura's governance, Schwarzbard's act sparked significant political and social debates in France at the time. He was eventually acquitted due to the justification of political assassination.
