Sheldon Silver is a former New York State Assembly speaker who was convicted of federal corruption charges in 2015. Silver served as speaker from 1994 to 2015 and was known for his leadership in the Assembly. However, he was also embroiled in several scandals, including allegations of corruption and bribery. Silver was sentenced to 12 years in prison and is currently serving his sentence. He is based in New York City.
