Shane Osborn is an American former naval aviator and politician. He was born on December 26, 1967, in Omaha, Nebraska. Osborn served in the United States Navy as a naval aviator and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service. He later served as the State Treasurer of Nebraska from 2007 to 2011. Osborn is known for his experiences as a prisoner of war during the Hainan Island Incident in 2001.
