Seán Lemass

Seán Lemass was an Irish politician and economist who served as the Minister for Finance and later as the Taoiseach of Ireland. He was a key figure in the development of the Irish economy and was known for his progressive policies. Lemass was a strong advocate for social welfare and was instrumental in the establishment of the Irish welfare state. He was also a skilled diplomat who played a key role in the negotiations that led to the Good Friday Agreement. Lemass died in 1971.
