San Juan Capistrano

San Juan Capistrano, also known as John of Capistrano, was an Italian Dominican friar and historian who lived in the 15th century. He was born in 1386 in Capistrano, Italy and died in 1456. Capistrano was a brilliant scholar and theologian who wrote extensively on the history of the Catholic Church. He was also a skilled diplomat and played a key role in the Italian Wars. Capistrano is best known for his role in the Eucharistic Miracle of Langenwiese, which took place in 1504. He was a young man at the time of the miracle and was called upon to investigate the strange occurrences. Capistrano was a devout Catholic and saw the miracle as a sign of God's presence in the world. He wrote extensively about the miracle and its significance, and it remains one of the most famous events in Catholic history.
