Sabbatai Zvi

Sabbatai Zvi was a Jewish mystic and leader who emerged in the 17th century. He claimed to be the Messiah and led a significant portion of the Jewish community in the Ottoman Empire to follow him. Zvi's teachings emphasized the importance of polygamy and the rejection of traditional Jewish law. Despite his initial success, Zvi's movement ultimately failed, and he was forced to flee to the Ottoman Empire. Today, Zvi is remembered as a complex and fascinating figure in Jewish history.
