Rose Delaunay

Rose Delaunay was a lady's maid during the Regency period in France, between the end of Louis XIV's reign and the beginning of Louis XV's. She became entangled in a conspiracy against the Régent and was imprisoned in the Bastille. Despite her humble social status, she formed a clandestine and romantic relationship with the Chevalier de Mesnil, a fellow prisoner.
