Roman Polák is a Czech politician and former Prime Minister of the Czech Republic. He was born on May 6, 1966, in Prague, Czechoslovakia. Polák studied law at Charles University and later earned a Ph.D. in law from the same institution. He began his political career as a member of the Civic Democratic Party and served as a member of the European Parliament. In 2010, he became the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, a position he held until 2013. Polák is known for his conservative views and has been a vocal critic of the European Union. He has also been involved in several high-profile controversies throughout his career.
