Rick Atkinson

Rick Atkinson is an American author, historian, and journalist. He is a staff writer at The Washington Post and has written several books on history, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning 'The Long Shadow: The End of the Cold War and the Failure of America's Empire'. Atkinson has also written for The New Yorker and has been a contributing editor at The New Yorker. He has received numerous awards for his writing, including the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, and the National Book Critics Circle Award. Atkinson has also been a fellow at the American Academy in Rome and the Guggenheim Fellowship.
