Rhoda Roberts

Aunty Rhoda Roberts AO was a guiding force in Australia's arts scene. She was a cultural leader and storyteller who lived through great loss and grief. She is best known for coining the term 'Welcome to Country'. She grew up with the lessons her father taught her and went on to become one of Australia's most influential cultural leaders in the arts. She was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in March at the age of 66. Rhoda was a respected figure in the Indigenous community and was awarded the Order of Australia for her services to the arts.
