Refaat Alareer was a Palestinian writer and journalist. He was born in 1947 in Gaza and grew up in a family of intellectuals. Alareer was a prominent figure in Palestinian literature and was known for his works on Palestinian history and culture. He was also a vocal critic of Israeli occupation and was imprisoned several times for his activism.
