Award-winning writer and broadcaster
Rachel Perkins is an Australian writer, broadcaster, and academic. She is a descendant of the Yolngu people of North East Arnhem Land. Perkins has written extensively on Indigenous Australian issues and has presented several documentaries and series on Australian history and culture. She is a prominent voice on Indigenous rights and reconciliation. Perkins has won several awards for her work, including the Australian Academy of Science's Eureka Prize for Science Communication. She is also a fellow of the Australian Academy of Science and a member of the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies. Perkins has been a vocal advocate for Indigenous rights and reconciliation, and has worked tirelessly to promote greater understanding and respect between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.
