Pope Saint Pius X was the head of the Catholic Church from 1903 to 1914. He was born in Riese, Italy in 1835 and became a priest at the age of 21. Pius X was a strong advocate for Catholic education and social justice. He was also a key figure in the development of the Catholic Church's liturgical reforms. Pius X died in 1914 and was canonized as a saint in 1954.
