Philip Alston

Philip Alston is a British academic and human rights expert. He is a professor at New York University School of Law and has served as the UN Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights since 2014. Alston has written extensively on issues related to poverty, inequality, and human rights. He has also been a vocal critic of capitalism and its effects on the poor.
