Paulo Freire

Paulo Freire was a Brazilian educator and social activist who is widely regarded as one of the most influential thinkers of the 20th century. He is best known for his work on critical pedagogy and his advocacy for literacy and education as tools for social change. Freire was imprisoned and exiled during the Brazilian dictatorship, but continued to write and teach until his death. He is the author of several influential books, including 'Pedagogy of the Oppressed'.
