Paul Avrich

Paul Avrich was an American historian and anarchist scholar. He was born in 1925 in New York City and died in 2006. Avrich was a prominent figure in the anarchist movement and wrote extensively on the subject. He was also a professor at Brooklyn College and taught courses on anarchist history and theory. Avrich was a prolific writer and published numerous books on anarchism, including a biography of Emma Goldman. He was also a strong advocate for social justice and human rights. Avrich was a member of the American Civil Liberties Union and the National Lawyers Guild. He was also a vocal critic of capitalism and imperialism. Avrich's work continues to be widely read and studied today.
