Patrick Lafcadio Hearn

Patrick Lafcadio Hearn was a British author, folklorist, and translator, best known for his books on Japanese culture and folklore. He was born in 1850 in County Sligo, Ireland, and died in 1904 in Tokyo, Japan. Hearn was a pioneer in the field of Japanese studies and was one of the first Westerners to write about Japanese culture. He is also known for his work as a translator and his contributions to the field of Japanese literature.
