About Patriarch

Patriarch Bartholomew is the spiritual leader of the Eastern Orthodox Church. He was born Demetrios Jerothanis in Greece and became the Patriarch in 1991. He is known for his efforts to promote unity between the Catholic and Orthodox Churches. Patriarch Bartholomew has written several books and has a strong online presence. He is widely respected for his wisdom and diplomacy.
