Orval Faubus

Orval Faubus was an American politician who served as the Governor of Arkansas from 1955 to 1967. He was a Democrat and is best known for his opposition to the desegregation of Little Rock Central High School. Faubus was a strong supporter of segregation and used the National Guard to enforce segregation in the state. He was impeached by the Arkansas House of Representatives in 1963 and later resigned as governor. Faubus died in 1994.
