Neal Gabler is a journalist and author. He is a staff writer at The New Yorker and has written for other publications, including The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and The New York Times Book Review. He is the author of several books, including "Winchell: The Life and Times of Walter Winchell" and "An Empire of Visions: The Epic History of the Age of Oil". He is a graduate of Harvard University and has an MFA from Columbia University. He is a member of the Authors Guild and the PEN America Center. He lives in New York City.
