Mohamed Atta

Mohamed Atta was a senior member of Al Qaeda and one of the masterminds behind the September 11 attacks. Born in 1968 in Kafr el Sheikh, Egypt, Atta became increasingly radicalized throughout his life and eventually joined Al Qaeda in the 1990s. He played a key role in planning several high-profile terrorist attacks before being killed in the World Trade Center on 9/11.
