Mikhail Makogonov

Chess player and grandmaster

Mikhail Makogonov is a Russian chess player and grandmaster. He was born in 1907 and died in 1977. Makogonov was a strong player in his time and competed in several international tournaments. He is best known for his game against Checkover in the 1937 Tbilisi tournament.
