Mikhaïl Koutouzov

Mikhaïl Koutouzov was a Russian field marshal during the Napoleonic Era. He is best known for his role in the Russian campaign against Napoleon's Grande Armée in 1812. Despite being somewhat controversial and not fully trusted by Tsar Alexander I, he was highly respected by the Russian people. Koutouzov employed a strategy of attrition, which ultimately contributed to the downfall of Napoleon's invasion of Russia.
