Marquis de Sade was a French philosopher, writer, and politician. He is best known for his libertine novels and his advocacy of free love and hedonism. De Sade was born in 1740 and died in 1814. He was a prominent figure in the Enlightenment and was known for his radical ideas on politics and morality. De Sade was also a prolific writer and published several books on philosophy and politics.
