Mark Hackel

Mark Hackel is a Democrat and the executive of Macomb County, Michigan. He has been in office since 2012 and has a strong reputation as a leader in his community. Hackel has been a vocal critic of Governor Gretchen Whitmer's policies, particularly with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also been a strong advocate for the rights of small business owners and has worked to support local economic development. Hackel is a graduate of Michigan State University and has a master's degree in public administration from the University of Michigan. He has worked in local government for over 20 years and has a strong understanding of the issues facing his community.
