Maekawa Fumio is a Japanese economist and former Governor of the Bank of Japan. He served as Governor from 2013 to 2018 and was known for his efforts to implement monetary policy to stimulate the Japanese economy. He has a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Tokyo and has taught at several universities in Japan.
