M. Russell Ballard

M. Russell Ballard is an American religious leader and the seventh president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and served in the United States Army during World War II. Ballard has been a member of the church's First Quorum of the Seventy since 1976 and has served as a member of the church's Quorum of the Twelve Apostles since 1985. He has also served as the church's Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles since 2018. Ballard has been recognized for his work in promoting the church's humanitarian efforts and has received several awards for his service.
