Luis Lacalle Pou is a Uruguayan politician and economist who has served as the President of Uruguay since 2015. He is a member of the National Coalition for the Defence of the State and has been a strong advocate for free market economics and social conservatism. Lacalle Pou has also been a vocal critic of the Uruguayan government's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
