Lucian Pintilie

Romanian filmmaker and screenwriter

Lucian Pintilie is a Romanian film director, screenwriter, and actor. He was born on October 24, 1934, in Bucharest, Romania. Pintilie studied at the I.L. Caragiale Academy of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography. He began his career as a screenwriter and then transitioned to directing. Some of his notable works include Reconstituirea and Aferism.
